A Virginia Beach man was charged Wednesday morning with the 1993 murder of a Norfolk teen-ager, police spokesman Larry Hill said.
Alfonzo Bailey, 26, had been charged shortly after the slaying of 17-year-old Lonnie Glenn III, but the charges were withdrawn.
Detectives recently obtained new evidence, however, and at 10 a.m. Wednesday investigators S.F. Halverson and W.L. Ross charged Bailey with murder and using a firearm.
Bailey was already being held in the Virginia Beach city jail on a separate capital murder charge, Hill said.
Glenn was shot to death in the 400 block of Reeves St. on May 18, 1993. His body was found on the street near his Brambleton home. Police said at that time that the shooting was drug related.
