Police obtained an arrest warrant Saturday in connection with the stabbing death of a 38-year-old woman who died at her home.
Police identified the victim as Beatrice L. Jefferson, of the 100 block of Glenwood Drive. She was found just before 6 a.m. and pronounced dead at the scene.
The arrest warrant named Earl Jacob Cross, 56, of Portsmouth. He is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He has a scar on his nose, police said.
Anyone with information on Cross' whereabouts is asked to call Crime Line at 488-7777.
