Local police are seeking public assistance in solving these cases:
Police are seeking two men involved in a series of armed robberies at fast food restaurants.
On Jan. 27, about 7:30 p.m., the Burger King restaurant in the 5500 block of Princess Anne Road in the Arrowhead Shopping Center was robbed.
About 7:30 p.m., two men approached the food counter. One brandished a handgun and demanded money. After getting the money, they fled.
The robbers are described as black, in their early 20s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, with medium-dark complexions. Both men had slight mustaches and goatees.
On Nov. 17, about 5 p.m., a hit-and-run accident left two motorcycle riders injured.
The motorcycle was traveling south on General Booth Boulevard through the intersection of Oceana Boulevard. A car made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, and the two collided.
The motorcycle driver had several injuries, including internal injuries. The passenger, a woman, suffered head injuries and a compound fracture of the arm.
Police are looking for a late model, dark maroon Dodge Intrepid. It was occupied by three men. The car should have damage on the right, rear side. PORTSMOUTH
Five businesses have been burglarized since Jan. 10.
One of the most recent was the Dunkin Donuts in the 4700 block of George Washington Highway. The point of entry in all these break-ins has been through the front doors or windows.
Primarily cash registers and safes, but also TVs and VCRs, have been taken.
The suspects may be posing as repairmen or workers and may be using work uniforms and vehicles to appear legitimate.
Investigators are asking people to call 911 immediately when they see any unusual activity around a Portsmouth business, either late at night or during the early morning hours. NORFOLK
On Jan. 27, the Crestar Bank branch in the 3300 block of East Princess Anne Road in the Industrial Park section was robbed.
Just after 4 p.m., a man handed a teller a note implying he had a weapon and demanding cash. After he received money, he fled west on Princess Anne Road.
The robber is described as black, 30, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a dark complexion. He had a thin mustache and was wearing a green Army jacket, brown leather baseball cap, brown gloves and sunglasses. HAMPTON
On Dec. 30, the Old Point National Bank branch in the 300 block of Woodland Road was robbed.
At 9:30 a.m., a man wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun demanded money from the teller. After taking the money, the suspect fled toward the rear of the bank.
The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin to medium build. He was wearing a gray skull cap, a royal blue ski mask and a gray sweatshirt. Witnesses believe the suspect is young, possibly 15 or 16.
In the early morning hours of Feb. 1, Shannon's Place, in the 3500 block of Shell Road, was burglarized.
The suspects forced their way into the business through a rear door. Once inside, they took cash, food and Newport cigarettes.
