JAMES T. DUNN JR.

James Thomas Dunn Jr., 81, died Feb. 19, 1997.

He was a native of Isle of Wight County. Mr. Dunn obtained the rank of first sergeant during World War II, served in the 445th AAA BN and for ground combat was awarded five battle stars: United Kingdom, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Mr. Dunn was a member of Sedge Garden Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, N.C.

Survivors include his daughters, Betty Berge of Richmond, Martha Dunn of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Susanna McKendree of Hampton; his son, the Rev. James Thomas Dunn III of Windsor; his sister, Eloise D. Morgan of Suffolk; his former wife, Iris Dunn Hancock of Hampton; six grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Antioch Christian Church by the Rev. James T. Dunn III. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home, Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to the Summer Mission Fund, Antioch Christian Church, P.O. Box 36, Windsor, Va. 23487.
