ANNIE F. STEEL

Annie Fox Steel of the 800 block of Constance Woods Drive died Feb. 18, 1997.

Born in Drewryville on June 14, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Roy Beadles Fox Jr. and Lillie Anderson Fox and was the widow of Dr. Charles Willis Steel Jr. She was a graduate of Drewryville High School and the Sarah Leigh School of Nursing in Norfolk. Mrs. Steel was a Christian member of West End Baptist Church, the WMU, and a former teacher in the junior and adult ladies departments. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include three daughters, Joan Steel Bonwell of Charleston, W.Va., Shirley Steel Howell of Suffolk, Charlotte Steel Bigony of Suffolk; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in West End Baptist Church by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby and the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to West End Baptist Church, 501 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va., 23434. The family will be at her home. R.W. Bake and Co. Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
