Emma L. Washington, 94, formerly of the 2400 block of Cutherell St., died Feb. 19, 1997.
Born in Sussex County, she was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith, Portsmouth.
Survivors include a son, Clarence Washington of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a daughter, Alice L. Clark; four sisters and five brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, where the family will meet the day of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the family. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
