James Madison basketball coach Lefty Driesell will be the guest speaker at the 44th annual Virginia Beach Sports Club Jamboree.
The club's yearly sports awards banquet will begin with a 6 p.m. cocktail hour on March 17, at the Oceanfront Sheraton at 36th Street. Tickets are $25.
Driesell, the former Maryland coach, also coached at Granby High School in Norfolk.
Proceeds from the Jamboree go to the club's annual scholarship fund - which gives each year 10 scholarships of $2,000 each to Virginia Beach high school seniors. The club has given 221 scholarships totaling more than $280,000.
