Evelyn ``Arnetta'' Boyd Gee of the 6600 block of Glenoak Drive, Norfolk, died Feb. 18, 1997, in Norfolk Sentara Hospital.
Arnetta, a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., was the daughter of the late Ervin H. Boyd and Inez Smith Boyd. She was the wife of the late Arnold A. Gee.
Arnetta was an active member of Greater Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, Norfolk, for more than 55 years. There she served as a member of Jenny Riddick Circle, Y.A.M.S, The Progressive Women, Number One Class, Supervisor of Wives, and President of the Missionary Parent Body. She was also a member of O.E.S., Androgynous Chapter 215.
Survivors include a sister, Wyoming Boyd Sutton; two brothers, Odell Boyd and Willie E. Boyd; a brother-in-law, Herman Sutton; two sisters-in-law, Helen Boyd and Mary Boyd; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greater Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion, Norfolk. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Elizabeth City, N.C. A wake will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at the Cornerstone Missionary Life Center, Elizabeth City. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
