"UNSOLVED MYSTERIES" TO FEATURE DETECTIVE IN "VAMPIRE" CASE

Detective Don Rimer, a 25-year veteran of the Virginia Beach Police Department and an authority on ritual crime and the occult, will be featured on the television series ``Unsolved Mysteries'' at 8 tonight.

The program will air locally on WAVY-TV Channel 10.

The program will focus on the ``vampire phenomenon'' and specifically certain vampire cases around the country. Rimer will address certain aspects of a recent case in Virginia Beach.

Jon C. Bush of Virginia Beach is serving a 26-year sentence for using a vampire role-playing game to entice underage girls into having sex with him.

He told the girls he was the ``elder'' vampire in the role-playing game and claimed to have special powers, such as ESP and mind control. Initiation into the game usually required that the girls engage in one of a variety of sexual activities with Bush.

Bush was convicted in September of 30 sex-related charges against eight underage girls.
