A 41-year-old woman who apparently suffered a seizure and lost consciousness while driving a pickup was hurt along with three bar patrons when the truck slammed into a building, police said.
The names of the driver and the injured were not being released until their relatives could be notified. All were taken to Sentara Bayside Hospital. None were believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
The accident happened about 5:10 p.m. in the 4900 block of Euclid Rd. Police said the 1994 Ford pickup the woman was driving went out of control after she passed out at the wheel. She was alone in the vehicle.
It first ran off the road and into a ditch where it ran for some distance parallel to some railroad tracks. It then crossed a grassy field and finally rammed into Poppa Jack's bar where three patrons were hurt - two men, ages 33 and 35, and a 36-year-old woman - all from Virginia Beach.
