TUNNEL'S HOV ENTRANCE TO ADMIT 2 IN VEHICLE

Beginning Monday, cars with two occupants will be able to use the Midtown Tunnel's High Occupancy Vehicle entry lanes previously open only to cars with three people, officials said.

Once the change is made, motorists who qualify may use the special HOV entry lane to bypass other traffic going into the tunnel.

The lane is being opened to more motorists to help alleviate congestion at the tunnel and to ease regional traffic problems.
