VIRGINIA, CALIFORNIA WINES TO SQUARE OFF

THE FOURTH annual Virginia's Incredible Edibles, a gourmet food and wine show of Virginia products, will be held March 7 and 8 at The Max restaurant in Portsmouth.

New this year will be the ``East/West Wine Challenge.'' Award-winning Virginia wines will compete with the wines of the same varietal and vintage from California.

Blindfolded attendees will rate their preferences, and the results will be announced on the final day.

Seminars on the ``Basics of Wine'' will be held several times during the two-day event.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door, and include wine glass, canvas shopping bag, samples, seminars and door prizes.
