BELVIA A. SMITH

Belvia Ann Smith, 40, of the 400 block of E. Gibbs Road, died Feb. 26, 1997, in her residence.

She was born April 11, 1956, in Norfolk. She had been employed as an assistant manager for Bluewater Seafood Co. She was a member of Cava Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, William R. Smith Sr.; daughter, Lindsey E. Smith; a son, William R. Smith Jr., all of the residence; her father and mother, Royce A. and Nancy Ethelyn Leary of Gibbs Woods; sister, Sharon Lopes of Gibbs Woods; a brother, Roy Leary of Virginia Beach; paternal grandmother, Margaret Leary of Chesapeake.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hughes Family Cemetery, Gibbs Woods, by the Rev. Fred Bates. The family will receive friends for a visitation today in Twiford Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Area Office, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23513.
