Leon Cooley of the 3500 block of Continental St. died March 3, 1997.
A native of Johnson County, N.C., he retired after 30 years employment. He was a member of First Lynnhaven Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, participating on the usher board.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda C. Cooley; five daughters and three stepdaughters; a stepson; a sister; two brothers; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in First Lynnhaven Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Edgar Williams Jr. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
