CONSTANTE C. URBI

Constante Corpus Urbi, 71, died March 5, 1997, in his residence.

A native of the Philippines, he was a chief petty officer of the U.S. Navy and also retired from the Navy Exchange. A veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, he was a member of the Filipino-American Veteran Association and the U.I.A.T. He was also a member of Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Alita Quimson Urbi; two daughters, Marian Urbi Watts of Williamsburg, Melissa Urbi Shaw of Norfolk; a son, Joseph Quimson Urbi of Norfolk; two brothers, Aventino Urbi and Salvador Urbi, both of the Philippines; and two granddaughters.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel by Fr. John J. Morris. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, where the family will remain until 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Operation Smile or to the American Cancer Society.
