NANCY W. JENKINS

Nancy Woodside Jenkins, 70, of Mill Pond Road, died March 8, 1997, in her home.

A native of Charlotte, she was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and retired from the Gates County school system. She was a charter member of Gates County No. 335, Order of the Eastern Star. She was the first worthy matron and one of the first members.

She was the widow of Chester Sears Jenkins, former sheriff of Gates County. She was the daughter of the late Joseph O. Woodside and Mildred Cross Woodside.

Surviving are a daughter, Sallie Jenkins Ryan of Gatesville; three grandchildren, Colin Jenkins Ryan, Colleen Cross Ryan and Michael Sears Ryan, all of Gatesville.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Gatesville Cemetery by the priests Donald V. Brand and Webster Simons. George and Sallie will receive friends in their home. Harrell Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
