Leonard Clement Amos, 73, of the 200 block of Pioneer Road died March 9, 1997, in his home.
Born in Split, Yugoslavia, he was the widower of Shelba Jean Bowman. A Presbyterian, he was a retired merchant marine for 20 years and was also a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran with 30 years of service. He was the son of the late Leoncio Esposito Amos and Simica Maria Amos.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra A. Graham and Les Graham of Kissimmee, Fla., Cynthia Louise Roberts and Joseph Michael Roberts of Suffolk; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Dan Godwin in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, where full military honors will be accorded. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Harrell Funeral Home and other times at the residence. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
