LINWOOD J. SPRATLEY SR.

Linwood J. Spratley Sr., 80, formerly of the 100 block of George Washington Highway died March 11, 1997, in a local hospital.

He was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers and was a native of Deep Creek, Va. He was the widower of Myrtle Bateman Spratley and a member of Brent-Lox Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Linwood J. Spratley Jr. of Portsmouth, William E. Spratley of Green Cove Springs, Fla., and Robert K. Spratley of Orange Park, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Stephen A. Turner. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
