Mrs. Jack Turner Cake, 92, died Wednesday, March 19, 1997, in a local hospital.
She had retired after 24 years as a secretary and chief personnel records clerk for the Norfolk City School Board. She was born in Isle of Wight County and was the daughter of the late Nancy Jones and Clarence Ambrose Turner Sr. and the widow of Richard D. Cake Sr.
Mrs. Cake was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church, the Laura Fenn Bible Class, United Methodist Women, the Great Bridge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a former member of the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club.
Survivors include a son, Richard D. Cake Jr.; two sisters, Frances D. Brown and Nancy T. Chase; two grandsons, R. Edward Cake and Robert B. Cake, all of Norfolk.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Charles H. Smith and the Rev. Francis E. Collins. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to Park Place United Methodist Church. Cox Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
