Mieko Maeda Bailey, 70, died Saturday, March 22, 1997.
A native of Kokura, Japan, she had been a Hampton resident for 40 years.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her husband, Richard H. Bailey; three children, Richard W. Bailey, Robert G. Bailey and Jean M. Bailey; a sister, Teiko Maeda; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. Donald Winter. Interment will follow in Veterans Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the National Kidney Foundation, 291 Independence Blvd., Suite 232, Virginia Beach, Va. 23462.
