Cearo Lee, 78, of the 700 block of Mullen Road, died Saturday, March 22, 1997, peacefully and gently at her residence after a short illness.
She was a native of Robersonville, N.C., and the daughter of the late Walter and Addie Lawrence Lee. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Lee was active in many phases of church life including the Usher Board (NU)2, president of the Missionary Board, Pastor's Aid, Deaconess Board, and for many years she worked with the youth of Bethel.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 55 years, Exum Lee of the home; four daughters, Juanita Purvis, Rosa Sutton, Annette Lee Thomas and Gwendolyn L. Carlisle; a son, Exum Lee Jr.; a brother, Curtis Lee; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Jesse E. Arrington Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Riddick Funeral Service. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The family will be at the residence. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
