Dallas Frank Battle, 66, of the 500 block of S. Main St., died March 20, 1997, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Battle was born in Edgecombe County, N.C., and retired from the machinery department of Berkley Machine Works after 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah L. Battle; three daughters, Brenda L. Battle, Shelia W. Battle and Jacqueline A. Amos; two sons, Gregory B. Battle and Leonard M. Battle, all of Norfolk; five sisters, Magonlia Edge, Suie Hart and Mattie Wiggins, all of Rocky Mount, N.C., Adeline Williams of Washington, D.C., Lillie Smith of Forestville, Md.; a brother, Roy Battle of Tarboro, N.C.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Fannie Battle, and father, Graham Battle.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Phillipi Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 211 Hardy Ave., by the Rev. Clevon Bryant. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 1009 Louisa St., Norfolk, at noon for the procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
