Jack L. Pennington Sr., 83, of the 700 block of Avalon Ave., died March 23, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
Born in Homer, La., he was a body shop manager for Colonial Chevrolet and retired after 36 years. A Baptist, he was a coach for Little League baseball and he was also an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine G. Pennington; three sons, Joseph Albert Pennington and his wife, Beth, of Norfolk, Jack Luther Pennington Jr. and his wife, Becky of Virginia Beach, Richard Pennington and his wife, Robin of Moyock, N.C.; a sister, Helen Nourse of Seattle, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park by Mr. Lee Dyson. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
