Alton Jordan, of the 200 block of 143 Road, died March 20, 1997, in a New York hospital.
Born in Princess Anne County, he was a member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Erma Jordan; three daughters, Esther Mae Butler, Dorothy Harvin, both of Chesapeake, Doris Reddick of New York; six sisters, McGirtha Whitehurst, Vivian Butts, Nellie Jordan, Annie Conley, all of Virginia Beach, Deloise Myers of Chesapeake, Irene Gibson of Long Island, N.Y.; four brothers, Waverly Jordan, Ralph Jordan, both of Virginia Beach, Walter Jordan of Chesapeake, Wilbert Jordan of Long Island; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three aunts, two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, a son-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in New Oak Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. O.L. Cromwell II. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at 5332 Blackwater Road, Virginia Beach. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
