Elizabeth Daughtrey Hodges, 85, of the 3600 block of Western Branch Blvd., died March 29, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Portsmouth and retired from Merchants & Farmers Bank after 27 years, she was the secretary to Harry Hunt, superintendent of the Portsmouth School System for seven years. She was a member of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and Tidal Wave Chapter (NU)9, O.E.S.
Survivors include two nieces, Mabel Bowe of Floyd Knobs, Ind., Joan Turner of Burke, Va.; six nephews, W. Hayes Daughtrey of Virginia Beach, James L. Daughtrey of Chesapeake, Robert L. Daughtrey of New Albany, Ind., Franklin D. Daughtrey of Clarksville, Ind., Wallace R. Daughtrey of Fort Myers, Fla., G. Wayne Daughtrey of Fremont, Neb.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by Dr. Albert A. Peveral Jr. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland.
