JAMES H. JORDAN SR.

James H. ``J.J.'' Jordan Sr., 67, of the 200 block of W. 31st St., died Sunday, March 30, 1997, in a local hospital.

A truck driver for Southern Packing Corp. for 14 years, he was retired. He was also a member of Faith Community Church, 31st and Granby streets, Norfolk, served in the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Queenie Jordan; four daughters, Velda J. Brathwaite, Vanessa Jordan, Sarah J. Conyers and Faleta Jordan; son, James H. Jordan Jr.; two sisters, Alberta Walker and Flossie Phillips; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Smith and Evelyn Jones; brother-in-law, Edward S. Walker, all of Norfolk; 24 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews, among them, Joyce Jordan, Butch Jordan, George Jordan and Jessie Jordan.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ole Moore, pastor of Faith Community Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A Wake will be held today from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Family will receive friends at 237 W. 31st St. and will assemble there at noon the day of the service. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
