WILLIE W. HILDERBRAND

Willie W. Hilderbrand, 87, of the 2700 block of Barclay Ave., died April 8, 1997, in a local hospital.

A retired employee of the City of Portsmouth, he was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Portsmouth. He was predeceased by his first wife of 60 years, Nettie M. Hilderbrand.

Survivors include his wife, Vada A. Hilderbrand; five daughters, Betty J. Hester of Kite, Ga., Lois A. McDowell of Portsmouth, Shirley Hargrave of Franklin, Jewell Ewert of Brush, Colo., and Willie M. Griffin of Portsmouth; a stepdaughter, Joyce Morris of Chesapeake; a stepson, Stacy Adams of Chesapeake; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a great-great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. W.S. Kidd Jr., the Rev. Vance Smith and the Rev. Ken Rice. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and other times at 37 DeKalb Ave. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
