James Marvin Keeter Jr., 79, of the 200 block of York Drive, died April 7, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of Portsmouth, he was retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Transportation Shop 02 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the widower of Isabelle E. Keeter.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Eleanor Hines of Portsmouth; two stepsons, William C. Aldridge of Portsmouth, Bruce E. Aldridge of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Ann Conner of Richmond; a brother, Frank L. Keeter of Greenwood, S.C.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by Dr. William C. Russ. The family will receive friends at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd., from 7 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
