AUBREY C. GORDON SR.

Aubrey C. Gordon Sr., 93, died Monday, April 7, 1997, in a local hospital.

Born Nov. 23, 1903, in Richmond, he was a son of the late Edward Albert and Lula Merkel Gordon.

He was a member of the Moreland Baptist Church in North Garden.

He is survived by his wife, Edna B. Gordon of North Garden; daughter, Barbara G. Atkins of Virginia Beach; son, Aubrey C. ``Butch'' Gordon Jr. of Charlottesville; stepdaughter, Nancy Belote of Staunton; stepson, Kenneth Harman III of Virginia Beach; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Inez Craig of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 1997, in Moreland Baptist Church, North Garden, officiated by the Rev. Jake Stewart. Burial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Riverview Cemetery, Richmond. The family will receive friends at any time at the home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3025 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, Va. 22901, or the Moreland Baptist Church, 2255 Taylors Gap Road, North Garden, Va. 22959.
