CHARLOTTE T. TOWNSEND

Charlotte T. Townsend, 80, a Tidewater resident for the last four years, died April 7, 1997, in her residence. She was a former resident of Waynesboro, Va. She was the daughter of the late William and Alberta Graves Thurston and the wife of the late Bernard W. Townsend. She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. She was a retired department manager for Leggett.

She is survived by her only daughter, Judith Gerni of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Darren Gerni and his family, Nanci and Matt of Yardville, N.J., Christopher Gerni and his wife, Millicent of Pittsboro, N.C.; her future great-grandchild, Amanda Millicent Gerni, will bless our lives with her arrival April 17, 1997.

A graveside service will be conducted April 12, 1997, at 2 p.m. in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening, April 10, 1997, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Twiford Funeral Home, Great Bridge, Chesapeake. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
