Eva Kelly Akers, 86, died April 8, 1997, in Norfolk.
Born in Kingsport, Tenn., she was the widow of John Chester Akers. She was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include five daughters, Eva Josephine Reed, Betty Lea Fansher, both of Norfolk, Dorothy Louise Murphy and Ruth Ann Crawley, both of Virginia Beach, and Linda Jean Preedy of Corapeake, N.C.; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Susan Cothran in Lafayette Presbyterian Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
