CARTER R. ANDERSON

Carter Randolph Anderson, 82, of the 400 block of 58th St. died April 9, 1997, in a local hospital.

Mr. Anderson was a native of Richmond and a resident of Virginia Beach for 11 years. A self-employed metal building contractor, he was in the metal building construction business for over 50 years in Richmond, Charleston and Virginia Beach. Mr. Anderson was a former member of the Hibernian Society, the Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce in Charleston, S.C.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his son, Tuck, and he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha Johnson Anderson of Virginia Beach; a sister, Helen L. Anderson of Richmond; a brother, Dr. Emmett H. Anderson of Memphis; his daughter-in-law, Judge Virginia C. Cothran of Virginia Beach; a grandson, Matthew Randolph Anderson of College Station, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Claire and Scott Miller; and several nieces and nephews including Marian B. Fisher of Virginia Beach.

A chapel service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd. Chapel, by the Rev. Robert Cummings. The private burial will be at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
