George Clifton Gray, 80, died Tuesday April 8, 1997.
Born in Norfolk, he had been a resident of Hampton for 50 years. Mr. Gray retired from NASA in 1974 after 39 years of service, as a wind tunnel operator. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 29th Infantry Division.
Mr. Gray is survived by his daughter, Miralee G. Hawkins of Concord, N.C.; his son, George C. Gray Jr. of Portsmouth; his brothers, Norman Gray of Virginia Beach, Roy B. Gray of Roanoke; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, by the Rev. Keith Lewis.
