ARTHUR C. POLSON

Arthur Coleman Polson, 87, of Route 1, died April 9, 1997, in Obici Hospital.

Born in Gates County, N.C., Mr. Polson was a member of Parker's United Methodist Church. He retired from Hobbs Engineering and worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard during World War II. He enjoyed farming and carpentry. He was the son of the late George Thomas Polson and Diana Brinkley Polson.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Jones Polson of Corapeake; a daughter, Beth Ellen Polson of Pasadena, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur Leroy and Shirley P. Polson of Suffolk; grandchildren, Arthur Alan Polson and Pam Polson Kinard; great-grandchildren, Tara Lynn Kinard and David Cody Kinard; and a sister, Erma Lee Mathias of Corapeake.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Parker's United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family in Harrell Funeral Home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
