David Bonner Owens Jr., 82, of the 22000 block of Linden St., died April 13, 1997.
He was the son of the late David B. and Mary Daniel Owens and the husband of the late Dorothy Story Owens. Mr. Bonner was born in Danville and was a longtime resident of Norfolk. He attended VPI and SU and Hampden-Sydney College and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired vice president of Lavino Shipping, Norfolk, and was a Protestant.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne O. Lovett and her husband, Gary of Franklin; a sister, Ruth O. Kruse of Miami; a brother, Jack Owens of Chula Vista, Calif.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Edward C. Johnson. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Petty, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, Va. 23851, or the Alzheimer's Association, 20 Koger Executive Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
