WILLIE F. TAYLOR

Willie F. Taylor, 72, also known as Willie Taylor Jr., of the 2500 block of Middle St., died April 14, 1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was born in Enfield, N.C. A mechanic for TRT for 36 years, he retired nine years ago and was a recipient of the 36 Years Service Award by the company. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Norfolk, the male usher board and Campbell Lodge (NU)67. He was a veteran of World War II and he received the Victory Medal.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Velda R. Taylor; five daughters, Lendora Riddick of Portsmouth, Doris Taylor-Wallace of Garden Grove, Calif., Juanita Moffett of Norfolk, Ernestine Weatherspoon of Jacksonville, Fla., Reginia Taylor of Norfolk, Evelyn Edwards of Virginia Beach; two sons, Willie Taylor III, Larry Taylor, both of Norfolk; his parents, Rachel Williams and Willie Taylor; two sisters, Delores Lowry and Katie Taylor; a brother, Henry Taylor; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, 1234 Reservoir Ave., Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. Jesse E. Arrington Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
