GARLAND L. TRUITT

Garland Leigh Truitt, 93, died Wednesday, April 9, 1997.

He was a native of Norfolk and was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. E.F. Truitt. He was an engineer and worked for the Dupont Co., the Savannah Electric & Power Co. and the Virginia Electric & Power Co.

Mr. Truitt was educated at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and at Cornell University. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors incude his wife, Rebecca Taliaferro Truitt; a daughter, Rebecca T. Truitt of Bristol, Colo.; two sons, Dr. Leigh Truitt of Denver, Robert T. Truitt of Englewood; five grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Irving F. Truitt Sr. and Edward B. Truitt Sr.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. H. Leroy Seibert. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 2369, Denver, Colo. 80201 or to the University Park United Methodist Church, 2180 S. University Blvd., Denver, Colo. 80210. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
