ROY V. WISEMAN

Retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Roy V. Wiseman Sr., 69, died April 23, 1997, at his son's home in Chesapeake.

Mr. Wiseman was born Dec. 2, 1997, in Canton, Ohio, son of the late Richard C. Sr. and Rebecca E. Hagar Wiseman. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the Fleet Reserve Association. He was retired from General Electric. He was preceded in death by his son, Roy V. Wiseman Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth E. Wiseman; two sons, Edward C. Wiseman and his wife, Lori of Chesapeake, Ernest F. Wiseman Sr.; two daughters, Sandra E. Malaterre and Susan E. Wiseman, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Murial Lorson and Hazel Reichenbach; two brothers, Richard C. Wiseman Jr. and Earl H. Wiseman, all of Ohio; and 12 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Altmeyer Funeral Hoome. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Episcopal Church by the Rev. John M. Eidam. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Carolina Outward Bound School, 2582 Riceville Road, Asheville, N.C. 28805.
