A concert by the newest members of the Virginia Symphony will be presented at noon Monday at Monumental United Methodist Church, at the corner of Dinwiddie and Queen streets.
In a program called ``Rookie Showcase,'' eight first-year members of the orchestra will play Quartet for Bassoon by Francois Devienne and the 'Cello Quintet in C, opus 167, by Franz Schubert.
The musicians have volunteered their service to tour the area to promote the symphony.
Lunch will be served in the church fellowship hall after the concert at a cost of $2.50 per person. For more information, call the church office at 397-1297.
