By the Grace of Our Lord, Ernest H. Baines Jr., 77, of the 1700 block of Lockard Ave., entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 30, 1997.
A Chesapeake resident for more than 30 years, he was retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility and was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4809, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26, Aragona Moose Lodge 1198 and Edgehill Hunt Club, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Frances A. Baines; a daughter, Laura F. Baines of Bladensburg, Md.; three sons, Ernest K. Baines of Virginia Beach, Donald W. Baines of Chilhowie, Va., and Richard R. Baines of Magnolia, Del.; a sister, Gloria Hodges of Martin, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald W. Baines.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by Father Timothy Drake. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
