Roy Wilson Weaver, 77, of the 3300 block of Holland Road died May 1, 1997, in Obici Hospital.
Retired as a machine shop supervisor at Planter's, he was a native of Nansemond County, Va., and a member of McAllister Masonic Lodge No. 185, Suffolk. He was a member of the Senior Citizens of Hillcrest Baptist Church (Happy Active Christians). He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and the son of the late Richard Algie Weaver and Kate Clement Weaver.
Survivors include his wife, Annabelle Byrum Weaver; his daughters, Jayne W. Hancock of Richmond and Dana W. Britt of Wakefield; a son, Roy W. Weaver Jr. of Gates County, N.C.; a sister, Ruth W. Rountree of Suffolk; two brothers, Richard H. Weaver of Branford, Conn., and Harry Lee Weaver of Suffolk; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, with the Rev. Douglas W. Gibson officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family in the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times in the residence.
