NAOMI O. JOHNSON

The Rev. Dr. Naomi Obey Johnson, 60, of the 700 block of Fallon Court, a minister for 20 years, died April 29, 1997, in Riverside Hospital, Newport News, of natural causes.

A native of Norfolk, she was a member of Open Door Baptist Church, Hampton, and was associate minister. She was a former member of Holy Temple Church in Norfolk and Little Zion Church in Hampton. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk and had a doctorate of divinity degree.

Survivors include her husband, Leander Johnson; a daughter, Lettie Johnson of Newport News; two sons, Bruce Johnson of Virginia Beach and Wayne Johnson of Baltimore; twin brothers, the Rev. Nathaniel W. Obey of Chesapeake and Andrew F. Obey of New York City; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Open Door Baptist Church, Hampton, by Elder Arthur House. Burial will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens. A wake service will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Cooke Bros. Funeral Home, Newport News. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
