Franklin Peyton Turner, 75, of the 100 block of Dale Circle, died May 6, 1997, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Franklin, Mr. Turner was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Anna Kea Turner. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired wood yard supervisor with Union Camp Corp. He was a member of Knights of Pythias, American Legion Post 73 and the Hunterdale United Church of Christ. He was a charter member of the Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Doris Harrell Turner; a daughter, Rebecca T. Edwards; four sons, Thomas P. Turner, C. Harrell Turner, C. Kea Turner and Murray H. Turner; three sisters, Frances T. Alexander, Marion T. Eubanks and Janey T. Councill; 11 grandchildren, Leigh Ann Turner, Tracey Turner, Todd Turner, Eric Edwards, Holly Edwards, Mark Turner, Ryan Turner, Josh Turner, Megan Turner, Erin Turner and Adam Turner.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Hunterdale United Church of Christ by the Rev. Dr. Alan R. W. Campbell and the Rev. James Camak. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in Wright Funeral Home.
