Charles W. Stewart Jr., 64, of the 1300 block of Lead St. died May 12, 1997.
A native of Norfolk, he was a 30-year employee of the City of Norfolk sanitation department before retiring. He was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Annie M. Stewart; three daughters, Sylvia L. Bell of Charlotte, N.C., Brenda Brown of Portsmouth, Alicia M. Anderson; five sons, Charles Stewart of Carrington, Ga., Stanley Stewart of Norfolk, Calton Stewart of San Antonio, Texas, Kenneth Stewart of Spain and Randel Stewart of San Diego; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a niece, nephews and many friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. ILLUSTRATION: Photo KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
