THELMA D. CARROLL

Thelma Deans Carroll, 92, of Mill Swamp Road, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997.

She was a native of Gatesville, N.C., and a homemaker. Mrs. Carroll was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church and the widow of James Milton Carroll Sr.

Survivors include a son, James Milton Carroll Jr. and his wife, Jessie of Smithfield; two grandsons, James Brian Carroll and Richard Bruce Carroll.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Smithfield, by Dr. Donald R. Rhoton. Burial will follow in Mill Swamp Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of James M. Carroll Jr., 8615 Mill Swamp Road, and suggests memorial contributions may be made to Mill Swamp Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, c/o Howard Delk, treasurer, 10346 Mill Swamp Road, Smithfield, Va. 23430, or Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
