ELLIOTT E. SIMPKINS

Elliott Edgar Simpkins, 62, of the 1500 block of Glen Haven Drive, died May 16, 1997, in Obici Hospital.

He worked as an equipment operator for the Virginia Department of Transportation and was a native of Mingo County, W.Va., and a member of Suffolk Church of Christ. He was a church treasurer and the son of the late Elliott Simpkins and Levisa Chafin Simpkins.

Survivors include his wife, Faye U. Simpkins; three sisters, Juanita Simpkins, Joan Griffin and Blanche Simpkins of Suffolk; and a brother, Benny Simpkins of Suffolk.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Kathleen Cisco and Dimple Stacy, and a brother, Ray Simpkins.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Suffolk Church of Christ by Evangelists A. Lowell Altzer, Billy Ray Boyd and Jacob Thacker. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family at Harrell Funeral Home Sunday from from 3 to 4 p.m. and at other times in the residence.
