Pier fishing along the Northern Beaches was good Tuesday.
Anglers on Kitty Hawk Pier caught gray trout, sea mullet, tailor blues and spot during most of the day.
On Avalon Pier plenty of sea mullet, tailor blues and gray trout were taken.
Nags Head Pier reported good runs of gray trout and sea mullet weighing around a pound during the morning. Some scattered bluefish were also taken mainly on bucktail rigs. Action slowed during the afternoon.
Spot, small blues, sea mullet and some gray trout were landed off and on during the day from Jennette's Pier.
Fishermen on Outer Banks Pier caught croaker, some nice size spot, sea mullet, tailor blues, gray trout and pigfish throughout the day.
South of Oregon Inlet scattered sea mullet, gray trout and spot were landed from Rodanthe Pier during the morning. Little action was reported during the afternoon.
On Avon Pier anglers caught a mixture of small bottom fish and scattered gray trout Tuesday.
Frisco Pier reported slow fishing most of the day with a few bottom fish and small trout landed.
Surf fishing along the beach from Corolla to Oregon Inlet was a little slow.
Surfcasters from Rodanthe to Buxton caught scattered sea mullet, pigfish and small gray trout.
Several big drum were beached at Cape Point Monday night. A few bluefish and gray trout were landed at the cape Tuesday.
A few small croaker, pigfish, gray trout and tailor blues were hauled from the surf along the beach from Ramp 55 to Hatteras Inlet.
Inshore trolling was good along the west side of the Oregon Inlet Bridge Tuesday with plenty of tailor blues taken.
Blue water charters off Oregon Inlet caught scattered dolphin, tuna and a few wahoo. The best of the yellowfin action was between the 40280 and the 40650 loran lines. A blue marlin was released by the Sea Watch.
Gulf Stream fisherman off Hatteras landed quite a few dolphin, a few tuna and several wahoo.
The water temperature at the Corp of Engineers' pier in Duck was 59 degrees Tuesday and 68 degrees at Frisco Pier on Hatteras Island.
