Doris Louise Johnson Ellis, 77, died May 20, 1997, in Lake Como, Fla.
Mrs. Ellis, a native of Southampton County, was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie Barrett Johnson and was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers and, during her time in the nursing home, she was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Horace G. Ellis of Lake Como; three daughters, Patricia E. Fairbanks and her husband, Ted, of Williamsburg, Carolyn E. Eanes and her husband, Albert, of Raleigh, N.C., and Audrey E. Ball and her husband, Thomas of, Lake Como; son, H. Dean Ellis and his wife, Gwyneth of Lake Como; sister, Virginia Vick of Franklin; brother, Frank E. Johnson of Ransome, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Thomas and Ginger Scott, Melissa and Michelle Eanes, Wesley and Hayley Ball, Jason and Erik Ellis. She was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Jeffries, and two brothers, Alton ``Bud'' Johnson and James Johnson.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, by the Rev. Wayne Underwood. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wright Funeral Home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
