ROSCOE HAYTER JR.

Roscoe Hayter Jr., 68, of the 600 block of Cavendish Drive, died May 24, 1997, in his residence.

He was a retired U.S. Navy commander with 30 years of service and was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a native of Abingdon, Va.

Survivors include his wife, Daisy Rebecca Hayter; a daughter, Cheryl Nunn, and her husband, Jack, of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Larry Hayter, and his wife, Mary Anne, of Washington, N.J., and Jerry Hayter, and his wife, Diana, of Dallas; a sister, Belle Hockett, and her husband, Leo, of Abingdon; nine grandchildren, Keri, Karla, L.J., Kim, Justin, Alex, Becky, Devin, Mercedez; and numerous friends including Jean and Harry Taylor, Helen and Charlie Stitzel, Ike Cochran and all his friends at Miss Kitty's Village Inn.

A funeral will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
