Preston H. Watkins Sr., of the 1100 block of Miller Lane, died May 24, 1997.
A native of Blackstone, Va., Mr. Watkins was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Oceana No. 69 P.H. and a charter member of the Seatack Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Ira D. Watkins; a son, Preston H. Watkins Jr. of Portsmouth; a step-son, Wallace Daughtry of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at noon on Thursday in Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Lamont Brown presiding. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
